PREPARATION:

You will have 90 seconds for your general audition and will be considered for all 4 shows. We realize this is a big range of shows and roles, so prepare what showcases you best. Please prepare a brief monologue and 16-bars of a song, OR 32 bars of a song that showcases your voice and allows you to act. All actors will need to at least carry a tune but some roles sing very little and don’t have solos, so don’t worry if singing is not your strong suit! Please don’t let this deter you from auditioning. If you play an instrument, please bring your instrument to play. A piano accompanist will also be provided so please have your audition pieces clearly marked and ready. Please be prepared with contrasting back up pieces if requested.

*If you are a dancer first and do not feel comfortable singing, we are holding a ballet call for adult and youth dancers April 3^rd at 8pm. Ladies, be prepared to dance en pointe.

Bring a hard copy headshot/photo and a resume stapled together.

SYNOPSIS:

An immersive, interactive re-telling of Charlotte’s Web set on a farm where the most unlikely duo becomes best friends. Includes bluegrass, country and gospel music.

SEEKING FOR: GODSPELL

Anna Maria: Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Alto):Open and sweet. Perhaps the youngest of the group. She is the first of the group to commit to following Jesus in the song “Day by Day.”

Celisse: Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Mezzo-Soprano): Goofy and a cut-up. She sings “Learn Your Lessons Well.”

George: Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Tenor): The comedian, the class clown. The guy who can do a hundred voices and imitations. He sings “Light of the World.”

Jesus: Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Tenor): Must be the most charismatic individual in the cast. High energy, charming, funny, gentle but with strength. He is the sort of person others instinctively follow. Ability to play instruments a plus.

John the Baptist/Judas: Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Baritone): He is both Jesus’ lieutenant and most ardent disciple and the doubter who begins to question and rebel. Ability to play instruments a plus.

Lindsay: Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Soprano): The confident one, the show-off. The first one to volunteer, sometimes she jumps in before she really understands what’s going on. She sings “Bless the Lord.”

Morgan: Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Alto): Sassy and slightly cynical, the most urban of the group. Also the “sexy” one, but her sexiness contains a large element of put-on, in the manner of Mae West or Madonna. She sings “Turn Back, O Man.”

Nick: Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 30s (Tenor): Very high energy. Impish and playful. Because he sings “All Good Gifts” he must be a very good singer. Ability to play instruments a plus.

Uzo: Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 40s (Alto): The shy one. Sometimes a little slow to get things, but when she does, she commits all the way. Has an “earth mother” kind of warmth to her. She sings “By My Side.”

[THE RAVEN] Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 40s. Dancer with strong technique. Ability to captivate through movement. Must have a strong sense of improv. Ability to sing a plus.

[TELL-TALE HEART] Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 60s. Has a strong sense of improv and storytelling. Ability to sing a plus.

[FALL OF HOUSE OF USHER] Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 40s. Has a strong sense of improv and storytelling. Must sing well.

[MASQUE OF RED DEATH] Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 40s. Dancer/Mover, comfortable being shirtless. Must have a strong sense of improv. Ability to sing a plus.

An immersive, interactive look at Poe’s final days set in an insane asylum where nurses transform into his most famous stories as he grapples with his sanity and mortality.

[NUTCRACKER] Male, Any Ethnicity, Teens - 30s. Strong classical ballet dancer and actor. Must have strong partnering skills. Ability to sing is a plus.

[FATHER/MAGICIAN] Male, Any Ethnicity, 20s - 50s. Strong actor. Ability to sing and dance are a plus.

[ICE QUEEN] Female, Any Ethnicity 20s - 40s. En pointe dancer. Ability to sing a plus but not required.
